TISCAREC - Recycling of artificial turf
Tisca Tischhauser AG would like to promote the environmentally friendly disposal of the artificial turf it produces. This strengthens the sustainability of the high-quality Tisca artificial turf.
The artificial turf is sheared, resulting in a mixture of crimped and smooth yarn. These yarns, which consist of 100% polyethylene (PE) and polyamide (PA), must be separated and cleaned for further processing. As part of the project, UMTEC is developing possible process engineering approaches and demonstrating that the plastics obtained can be further processed into new products. Tisca Tischhauser AG assumes that although the recycling of artificial turf waste is ecologically better than thermal utilisation, it is likely to be more expensive. Nevertheless, Tisca Tischhauser AG is prepared to make an ecological contribution if the project shows that this is technically possible and the additional costs are justified by the ecological benefits. This commitment is in line with Tisca Tischhauser AG's basic ecological stance.
