The primary goal of our St.Gallen Management and Law degree program is to prepare you systematically and practically for promising professional fields, and to pave the way for promising careers in law, as well as in business and administration. Our specializations offer career prospects in professional fields where a significant shortage of skilled workers has been identified.
Based on your knowledge of labour law, social security law, civil procedure law and data protection law, you will make a valuable contribution to personnel administration and development. In addition to the legal specialization module in data protection, you can choose two modules from the human resources specialization of the bachelor's degree in business administration, e.g. the modules in human resources management and development, or business psychology.
This specialization, conducted in English, consists of the modules Data Privacy, IT Governance and Security, and Project Management. Topics such as IT security, developments in the LegalTech sector, opportunities and threats of blockchain technology, cybercrime, phishing, ransomware, encryption Trojans and dark net are of central importance in today's e-business environment. You will also deepen your knowledge of project management and learn about the most important IT contracts.
This specialization is particularly suitable for students who wish to pursue a career in public administration, or in companies and law firms related to administrative law. The main objective is to gain in-depth knowledge of the legal relations between the state and citizens. A special focus is placed on teaching public procedural law, environmental and construction law, and public business law (e.g., antitrust law).
You will draft and review contracts, clauses, general terms and conditions, etc. in the course Contract Drafting and Enforcement. In the Corporate Law and Taxes in Transactions course, you will deal with legal issues relating to mergers, demergers, transformations or asset transfers. In the Public Business Law course, the focus is on competition law and regulatory issues in particular.
