NEWAL Network for Water and Life

The overarching goal of NEWAL is to promote and strengthen networking and scientific exchange between the institutions involved at the interface of water and life. NEWAL offers new opportunities for cooperation for research and university institutions in Switzerland and West Africa through transdisciplinary and transcultural exchange, for example in the form of webinars, student exchange programs or project work.

Through this programme, faculty staff get together and jointly develop jointly design and develop training content and material

Students get an international, intercultural and interdisciplinary exposure in the field of water and life

While they work in groups during the seasonal schools, they also connect their students’ projects, bachelor or master with the topics from the school and also have the possibility to jointly apply to a project award to implement their ideas. Thereby they get a chance to actively make a contribution to SDG6 with their projects.
