In addition to fine resolution strain measurement with optical and mechanical fine strain gauges, e.g. on standardised tensile specimens, we offer the possibility of determining spatially resolved strains on your components with a digital image correlation system from Dantec.
The samples are sprayed with a random pattern in black and white. Up to four cameras arranged around the component track the change in the pattern. This allows the strains on the component to be calculated with spatial resolution.
The specimen strains are determined in real time during the test in the longitudinal, thickness and width directions. The true stresses result from the applied force and the true specimen cross-section at each point in time.
We use the DIC method (Differential Image Correlation) to determine true stress-strain curves (= yield curves) on tensile specimens.
