SPF Collaboration
Global South
Our exchange of knowledge and experience with the Global South is aimed in particular at securing decentralized energy supply as well as energy self-sufficient drinking water use, wastewater treatment and sustainable agriculture. Especially, renewable energies are a key technology providing access to new technical processes that sustainably improve living conditions.
In these areas, we develop application-oriented solutions that are tailored to local needs and are characterized in particular by technical robustness and cost efficiency. Our projects intend to be innovative and of high quality, and are led by our partners from the South. Often, we try to involve students in the work.
Example projects:
- SophiA – Sustainable off-grid solutions for Pharmacies and Hospitals in Africa
- RESD – Renewable Energy Skills Development Indonesia
- SoWaDis – Solar Water Disinfection
- Cluster West Africa «Water & Life»
