Potential and limitations of using low-temperature district heating and cooling networks for direct cooling of buildings
Low temperature district heating networks connect residential buildings with heat demand to commercial buildings with elevated cooling demand. Energy is transported in water bearing pipes at a low temperature level and stored in seasonal borehole storages. The potential of such networks for the direct or free cooling of buildings is analyzed.
