EU Projects
YES, WE CAN participate in EU projects. Although Switzerland is currently not an associated partner for Horizon Europe projects, we are able to join a consortium, take responsibility for Tasks and Work Packages and list our contributions and budget in your application. As long as we are not an associated country, our budget will be considered “third party” money and automatically paid by the Swiss Government (SBFI - Staatssekretariat für Bildung, Forschung und Innovation) under the condition that the project proposal has passed the evaluation of the EU reviewers and a Grant Agreement is signed between the partners and the EU. The SBFI does not do an additional content evalution and thus there is no increased risk in having a Swiss partner in the consortium. The only role we can currently not take in an EU project is the one of the administrative coordinator. However, we can help you draft your proposal as we are quite successful in EU projectd applications, with usually several EU-projects running in parallel at our Institute.
