Best Poster Award for HSR in Hangzhou
At one of the best-known international conferences in the field of electromagnetic field computation (Conference on Electro- magnetic Field Computation CEFC), an HSR student was able to hold his own against the competition with the presentation of his Master's thesis. Of the approximately 800 papers presented by researchers from all over the world, six received the "Best Poster Award". Among them was Thomas Franz from the HSR with his poster entitled "Time Domain Inrush Current Simulations of Power Transformers". This conference is held every two years and was held in Hangzhou, China in 2018.
Recognition Award for Research Projects at the HSR 2018
On 23 May 2018, the Foundation for the Promotion and Support of Technology-Oriented Enterprises Rapperswil (FUTUR Foundation for short) awarded an innovation prize to two research projects at the HSR University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil. The prize was presented by Foundation Council President Dr. h.c. Thomas Schmidheiny. Picture
Recognition Award for Research Projects at the HSR 2015
For the eleventh time, the Futur Foundation has awarded the Innovation Prize to two professors at the Rapperswil University of Applied Sciences (HSR). The recognition prize of 6000 Swiss francs was awarded to Jasmin Smajic from the Institute of Energy Technology. With a team of six, Smajic developed the world's first lightning impulse analysis software for large, dry, i.e. air-cooled transformers on behalf of the power engineering company ABB.
Recognition Award for Research Projects at the HSR 2014
Anyone who flies wants to arrive safely at their destination. Aircraft passengers fear engine failure the most. A crash would inevitably be the result. To make the engines safer, the Institute of Materials Engineering and Plastics Processing (IWK) at the Rapperswil University of Applied Sciences (HSR) has developed a new type of air deflector made of fibre composites (carbon fibres). The Futur Foundation from Rapperswil-Jona has therefore awarded the project the Innovation Prize 2013 and a cash cheque for 10,000 Swiss francs.
Innovation Award for Research Projects at the HSR 2013
In 2013, the Futur Foundation awarded prizes to two research papers submitted by Rapperswil HSR University of Applied Sciences. The main prize went to a team led by Professor Jasmin Smajic from the Institute of Power Engineering at HSR, who had tackled a problem in the high-tech sector. In collaboration with ABB, he developed a method to reduce the size of transformer systems in extreme high-voltage lines.
