In the past, the use of numerical simulations was limited by the available computing power. This problem has been largely solved by the introduction of cloud computing. In the near future, all important simulation tools will be easily rented together with the necessary computing power. Customized simulation solutions will be offered as services in the cloud, eliminating the need for hardware and software maintenance altogether. Another hurdle for the use of numerical simulations has thus been removed.
