Study Content
Are you considering a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering? Then you will want to know what content we have to offer and what specializations you can choose from.
Why study mechanical engineering at the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences?
In the Mechanical Engineering subject area, you will examine innovative developments of individual products, systems or entire facilities to ensure that they meet operational requirements. The foundation of all development processes is using a developmental system and considering the entire product life cycle, from product idea through to final disposal.
You are moving from isolated to integrated product development. This means that you will learn about and incorporate all involved disciplines throughout the entire product life cycle during product development. This requires knowledge of the available development and simulation tools and the latest manufacturing technologies and tools.
From idea to finished product, managing product and production data also plays a key role. You will explore digitalization and Industry 4.0 both in theoretical form and via modern production facilities.
During your master’s studies, you will gain a deeper understanding of how a development process operates. In most cases, this development is completed in conjunction with one or more industrial partners or as part of publicly funded projects.
The Four Specializations
- Product Innovation and Product Development
- Production Engineering
- Use of Simulation Tools
- Digitalization and Industry 4.0l
Tailor Your Studies to Your Interests
Your studies consist of theory and context modules in your chosen profile of Business Engineering. Your specialization makes up two thirds of your degree program. You will develop professional knowledge via project work, additional classes and the Master’s thesis. You can choose an individual area of focus to suit your interests. When selecting your project work, you can demonstrate broad skills or choose to specialize in a specific area.
